A Guide to Choosing and Installing Tankless Water Heaters

Working Mechanism
Tankless Water Heater otherwise known as on-demand water heaters have a device that senses water flow that usually activates as soon as you turn on a hot water tap. The unit receives signals to heat the water using its electric element or gas burner depending on the make. It then channels the water to where you need it as long as the unit is or the hot water tap is on.
Tankless Water Heaters are usually small and mounted on a wall and thus save space for you. The great thing about them is that your home is less likely to flood because they do not leak.
Installation Process:
Tankless Water Heaters have high-powered burners and therefore one has to carefully install them in a place that is well vented. This not only ensures that you are using your unit in a safe environment but also proper installation means fewer breakdown opportunities. Whether you are installing a gas Tankless Water Heater or an electric one, it is important to note that at least 120-volt electrical power is required. Make provision to either plug your unit or connect it directly to a junction bot with a wire.
There are two ways of installing a Tankless Water Heater unit;
1. You can either flush-install it against your wall or;
2. You can fix it into the wall by cutting a hole that will fit into between studs.
After choosing the best method to use, the next step is to ensure that you correctly route the pipes that will be used to supply the heater with water. Depending on the water pressure in your premise or home, you can consider installing a pressure relief valve. Union fittings are what you use to connect the water inlet and outlet.
The next step is usually to open the water valves only and then open your water faucets for about two minutes to allow water to run through the Tankless Water Heater. Once you are done with this, close the water valves and take out the inline filter that is usually found at the inlet of your water heating unit. Clean it by removing any debris or particles and then replace it.
It is time to open your water valves and restore electrical power or gas to test if your Tankless Water Heater is working properly. Perform regular maintenance of Tankless Water Heater to prevent catastrophes and ensure the longevity of the time your unit will serve you.
